just got back from SF after 3 days spending the time there with two aussie friends, darren and scott. last nite we went to Ruby Skye, a famous nightclub here. We were so drunk that nite and hungry at the same time. Blaming all the taxi drivers for not knowing where the nearest mc donald that were still open. We ended up at Jack in the Box and Scott demanded to see Mr. Jack but to no avail…

That very same morning, poor them, have to wake up after 2 hours of sleep to be shuttled to the airport. I have fun times with the boys.. and i guess they would have too!

Im going to catch some more sleep and later on, going to church and… study.. school starts tomm… not a very good day for me…..thinking about all the things that have to be done for next week… :(

today, i was relocated from the normal event office to program office because the previous was quite dead. there, i took on lots of small assignments/projects regarding the new festival of cultures/spring fest they are currently planning. Wendi, the most wonderful boss, asked me to work again on Thursday to help out. I am to give her a call at 8am in the morning that day to say whether i can come in.

After work, i was just checkin my mail and then went out for dinner with Arturo, my mexican friend to this Thai restaurant called Tuk Tuk Thai, down at Shattuck. I had my regular meal: Yellow Curry with shrimp and tofu, Fried tofu with peanut sauce and Thai ice tea… yummmmm….. i dunno what Arturo has, but i was certainly enjoying my own meal. He told me that the meal was good… of course it is…. its my fave Thai food :P

Tomm, is STUDY DAY.. yes yes.. i have been telling my self this and i have to further emphasize now the importance of studying tommorrow! Yes, lazy, tommorrow is study day.. Jesuss… i will feel so upset about myself if i dont do it tommorrow…….

yuks.. study.. yukss… study.. yuks…

Spring break finally is here. For a week i have no school (read: still have lots of works to do). Lots of people are going away to Hawaii, LA, Grand Canyon and everywhere during this time. I am stuck in Berkeley coz i have lots of catching up to do. Will be working two full days in office. The rest of the week will be spent on research for three projects due after Spring break, materials reading for second midterms after spring break and entertaining two mates coming from Aussie on their way back from conference in Vancouver, Canada.

So nuthin much interesting gonna happen. what am i gonna do in between times? Personal reflection and thoughts gathering as well as watching where the war will go are the top priorities on my list now. OH yes, one more thing, catching up on personal readings! I have a backlog list of at least 5 books which have not been touched for the past 2 weeks. Now is the time, to clear up some…..

Happy holidays everyone!

the ultimatum is out. 48 hours. Sadam and his cohorts are to leave the country. Military action will be taken otherwise. Security level is raised to Orange Level or ‘High” now! The coalition of the willings are preparing for the worse. The only way Saddam could win is to launch pre-emptive strike. Baghdad has been reinforced by military personnels. UN weapon inspectors were ordered to leave the country……The war is coming. Either exile or pre-emptive strike should be chosen. And it has to happen before the deadline on Wednesday. Another waiting game, except this time, its crystal clear.

tension is high around the country.. even around the area… after the Emergency Summit in Portugal on Sunday, the coalition of the willing has set that today is the day for the moment of truth… the last day for diplomatic window before its being shut…. last nite, around this area, vigil of peace were held by numerous small groups, some at ihouse, some around the streets and bridges, bringing small candles with them, making it a nice view at the dark night… trying to give the world “the last chance for peace”…

Nevertheless, decision has been made… the war is coming. it might be announced tonite at zero hours Kuwaiti time. Everyone expects the President to give the war speech tonight. Wall streets rallied high, gaining 226+ points just today… one of the biggest big rally of the market in a single day, trying to offset the corrections done in the past two days last week. Heightened securities were seen around the country, preparing for sleeping cells to react on the war declaration. Security level has been raised to ‘elevated’, expecting everyone to prepare for the worse…

will be waiting tonight for the speech and see the last justification for war made by the President……..if this happens, tommorrow, there will be immediate anti war protests in San Francisco. Many Berkeley students actually gonna go down to the city.. i might be joining… see how it goes with my INS. Coz tomm, i have to report to the government for screening as Indonesia was placed under a risk-country.. one of those things that they do….

This wouldnt help at all but i want to tell those leaders that this is my conscience ” PLEASE DO NOT DECLARE WAR, ITS NOT WORTH THE CAUSE”

on friday, i went to this irish spring party in the house. the music is terrible…it couldnt be worse… DJ couldnt read the crowd… for 4 hours, only 3 techno songs were played.. thats how bad it was.. and people were just keep leaving instead of coming in….

went to San Francisco on Saturday to catch The Hunted @ Metreon. It was good movie. Predictable yet suspense. Same cruelty level as ‘Tears of the Sun’ but at a scaled down version…Not so much of mass killing, more to individual thingy…

today I am going to be monitoring a wedding from 12noon til 6pm. Long hours but good money… so why pass it? 1 1/2 hour more to go and trying to kill it.. wanting to do my laundry.. but wont have the time to pick them up later… so gonna leave it first and do it at nite before church….

So today is the emergency summit…. wondering whether tomm, when the deadline comes… whats gonna happen… War seems to be imminent at this point of time…. when i was at SF, there were peace protestors everywhere.. but police seemed to have the upperhand.. they were so organised that makes them look like a parade.. the demonstrators were scatterred everywhere.. while public became loyal bystanders wanting for some actions… helicopters were roaring above the skycrappers, perhaps the media, trying to estimate the number of people at any given square…

War is coming and the tension here is high.. not as high as in the Middle East… where Israel and the troops are patiently waiting for preemptive strike from Saddam… yes, they were speculating such attack.. coz thats the only chance that Saddam could win… strike first..BUsh seems to have made up his mind long time ago.. this has become personal feud… no UN inspections or resolutions will ever contain both mens, they are there to take each other out, with the rest of us, being put at the centre… going along with the little game they played.. oh well, this is power and politics on display.. even the UN is incapable to restrain both men.

would you like ‘freedom’ fries with that?? oh man, the war is getting ridiculous. The menu in the cafetaria for Congress reflects this. They changed all menu with ‘french’ with ‘freedom’. This boycott on the french products as a result for France’s opposition with the US war. Similar to the WW I when American boycotted the German products and replace them with ‘liberty’, this time, ‘freedom’ fries and ‘freedom’ toast are makin debut. Whats next?? ‘freedom’ kiss???

What a patriotic country!
