the past few days have been hectic. i was running around to do my errands. and yesterday, i got another $50.00 of parking fine. this time, i missed by one minute and actually spoke with the parking officer… he couldnt help me coz it has gone through the machine… i had no choice but to pay both of them.

tomm im going to sydney. early in the morning. in about one hour, i was supposed to go to this CPA networking event. However, i dun feel like going at all. So, i havent decided whether its actually worth it to go there, or stay at home doing my laundry and stuff.

what have i done so far? i have been meeting up with friends, updating my resume and asking the careers unit to review my resume back.. yes… the american version and the australian are wildly different. i have to expand from that one page to 3 pages max. Now, its about 3.5 pages. dunno what else to be cut from there. im gonna apply for vacation employmet during the summer break in december. all this if i decided not to go to China at the end of this year. The SARS thing still going on.. and scared the hell out of people… im not scared, but im sure my parents wouldnt agree to me going there at all…..

so.. off to my cover letter now. its gonna be a rough night.. trying to boost what i have done in the past, inside one page…. thats just the thing u have to do in life……

finally i reach home. and Melbourne city welcomes me with a $100 parking fine! I was parking on a loading zone while shopping at Safeway. Thank you Melbourne!

the trip was exhausting. and i am having a major jetlag now, especially trying to understand, why it is Tuesday here!

what am i going to do?? Clean up my apartment and take care of my two cats, chester and sasha. they have been abandoned by me for nearly a year… so its payback time….hehhe….they have been crawling around me all the time, scratching me all over. my jean has new holes….

will update soon on all the pictures that i took. but now, its cleaning time!

EXAM IS OVER

finally…its over today. i am so glad. which means that i have only 2 more days left before my departure. my roommate, big guy, is leaving as well in about one hour from now….hiks hiks….

it has been a while since i have written any entries here. but now, i have to start packing. many have to be thrown away…but i have sent 3 packages earlier.4-6 weeks before they arrive.

anyway…better continue packing now..perhaps..my last entry would be tomorrow, the last night i would be here at i-house… ahh.. what a memory…

i have been receiving emails for the past few days and all of them are encouraging. thank you to all of you who have sent me those emails. You know who you are, and i do truly appreciate all the thoughts and cares poured into the emails. i am in this crazy and hectic weeks of exam plus the millions of errands that i have to do before i leave this country. it might be days before i can reply to your emails and i do apologize for that. i just want to acknowledge that i did receive your mails and as much as i want to reply them ASAP, i really do not have the mental energy as for now

last nite was my first experience ever having office hours with two professors at different bars. it started out with Prof. Distad at Reileigh. my friend convinced me to drink beer (which i hate). After promising to go to Blakes where they serve hard liquor before the office hour, i finally gave in to at least 4 glasses of German beers. it aint taste that bad. we were quite tipsy by about 8pm (it started at 5pm) and me and my prof, who has been teaching the investment course for 20 years, decided to take the pool challenge to extend the night.

after it was over, we made our way down to Henry’s to have another office hour with another Prof. This time is corporate finance time and we managed to drag Prof. Distad to join us, and at the same time, reuniting both profs. Steve Etter, our Prof for Corporate Finance was Distad’s student long time ago… so u can imagine the excitements in Henrys at that time. We closed the nite at about 1am after crawling to another pub (Kip’s) and we were so smashed by then.

That explains why i had a rough morning trying to wakeup and study for my exam today. I had my marketing. it was okay. could have done better. but as the wise people say, dont think about it, tackle your next one. Yes, next one is on Friday. But im more concerned with the other two, next week. Oh well, the drama will never stop until the day i leave Berkeley.

my most efficient day here at berkeley.

yesterday must has been the most efficient day i have here at berkeley.

it started with me waking up at 11am. i had my breakfast while reading marketing textbookto get a grasp of what to cover.

1pm-4.30pm: group meeting for investment. i have finished my part.
4:40-5:15pm: had late lunch/dinner with Magnus on durant
5:15-7:00pm: a short nap, recharging my battery
7:00pm-1:00am: marketing. i covered all the chapters required. Yes… bloody nine chapters…all these at the cost of two (only two) redbulls.

i am amazed with myself. hahhaha…today is accounting time. i hope i still can make use of the momentum ….oh accounting…i will tackle you later, second thing in the morning after breakfast….

today, my roommate hits his 2 weeks mark before he left iHouse. mine wont happen until Monday. he is 2 days earlier than me.

having group meeting in 45 minutes…and this eBay valuation has driven us mad with many assumptions that we created. in the mean time, i’ve been trying to pack up all the stuff that need to be sent home. so far, 2 and 1/2 boxes already filled up. i threw away one big load of ‘rubbish’ as i cleaned up my room and there are more to come.

next week, my exam starts. Marketing on Wednesday and Corporate Finance on Friday. The rests would be the following week. Advanced Financial Accounting on Thursday and Investments on Friday. Am i prepared? NO. but its something that has to be done.

i hate relationship. they are nuisance. its true that there are times when you need them, but most of the time, instead of becoming a source of relief, it became a source for troubles. Yes, i can never understand this. what i want is just enjoying wat is there without asking too much… its hard to understand really what goes on in each others’ mind. this is what makes it complicated. but what makes it seriously damaging, is when you start pushing something too far.

i can never understand of people who like to hear all the nice things just for the sake of hearing it. i can say it 100 times. or i can even record it so you can hear it whenever you want to. but one thing tat has always been with me is, i hate faking things. i do or say thing when i mean it not when i have to. if you want to get someone who will keep saying all the good thing, just get a doll, or a parrot, then u can teach them to tell u what you want to hear.

but if u want it fom me, im sorry. its not as simple as that. i have been plain from the start and i will be as crystal clear now too. im not a doll, or toy or whatever you want me to be. i have my own life. i have my own freedom. i have my own reasonings that dont necessarily match yours. i have my own timeline and my own schedules….and they again dont necessarily match yours…. and if thing as simple as this, you dont understand…. you will never understand me. thats why,i have never understood you.

18 more days to go and im gone….
this week has been hectic for me… only today i managed to breathe a little after few days of not sleeping…but hey.. my 50% project is over now… one more to go…due next tuesday….

my exam starts on May 14th….till May 23rd…. actually, i have an option whether to do one paper on the 14th or 20th…i prefer to get it done earlier, since i have two paper consecutively on 22nd and 23rd….

Its not up yet but will be so in a couple of days.. it will be temporarily forwarded to this site…until i can think how best to utilise it. most probably, this will be commercial site for my online busines, whereas,tedygunawan.com will be my personal one… but hey..long way to go…..lets get this semester done and over with first!!!
