i hate to bitch about the assignments but honestly, the amount of hours i spent on this 10% auditing essay is by no comparison fair at all. here i am, still staring at the same bloody screen, thinkin how the hell an extra of 1000 words can appear in the currently half filled essay.

my biological clock has turned upside down for the past few days. thanks of course to the numerous assignments. i wonder what it takes to turn it back. definitely, not redbulls. they have been my main diet.

OMG, i just realised. Redbull has a small disclaimer: 1.5 Bottles Maximum Daily. And today, i have been drinking 4 of them…..geezzz…..

my constitutional duties

ok.. for those who dont know what i do outside uni, im the national general secretary of the nlc (yahooo… blek blek blek :( )….. and some of my constitutional duties are:
-be responsible for resourcing and maintaining effective communication between, and among the NLC, the Branches and Campus Affiliates;
-be responsible fo the overall promotion of the NLC;

so what have i done today to fulfill this??? i levelled up NLC to natural person by creating friendster account for NLC and its branches.. hahaha…. i stopped short of creating friendster accounts for other factions as well as major politicians such as John Howard, Mark Latham, Amanda Vanstone and Brendan Nelson…

I wonder if they do exist, and they have added themselves to the NLC, what would be their testimonies to the NLC in friendster:

John Howard: NLC is good organisation but unfortunately, your members are not citizens thus non voters… so doesnt really matter to me

Mark Latham: I believe in free education but unfortunately education nowadays are soo costly… and your organisation represents all these cows, fresh cows with lots of money to my country.. so its better if i disassociate myself from you, if not, you will start winging…

Amanda Vanstone: hmm.. NLC… i was education minister before and now as immigration minister, there is not a single organisation in australia which i hate more than NLC.. you guys can only complain complain and complain.. just because you bring $7 billion every year, doesnt mean you get everything here… and all of you only care about PR anyway… tell your members to speak english properly before coming here… of course IELTS test is the best english test ever created….(hahuauuaa i just increased PR passmark!!)

Brendan Nelson: NLC?? is it No Longer Cows??? cannot be.. they always bring international students here… well.. im always good at listening to them.. NLC is a good organisation…..and why do they keep complaining about Plagiarism and Racism??? Dont they know that both Howard and Latham are racists and plagiarists??? Get a life.. this is Australian values, mate!!!!

@ the lib

my sis is @ home preparing for her delayed celebration party with a handful of her friends. i was asked gently last week to make myself comfortable by not being around the house where the party is going to be held. i was planning to go to the library anyway for my assignments. i have to do serious research for couple of assignments due this week and the following week.

so here i am in the library, trying to get into the ‘mood’. before, as i was travellin on the tram, i saw two poor international students who were speechless as they were caught red-handed by the tram inspectors for not buying any tram tickets. i was about to conclude that they are racists in a way because they dont target other ppl in the tram. But clearly, those three inspectors were eyeing the two students when they boarded the tram at the same time. The students couldnt come with any explanation at all, as clearly they are at fault. I was about to tell them to give an excuse like “i am here on protest because there is no travel concession” but then, i realised that they didnt even buy concession tickets… so there you go…

anyway…the wireless connection is very good. even though i cant use chatting programs (not sure if this is good or bad), downloading programs licensed by the university for the students are very fast. I just downloaded an OpenOffice program (64 MB), in just two minutes… amazing… the speed on wireless download was like 560kb/s. I have never seen such a speed before in the entire history of me donwloading stuff!! But hey, its internal network, its supposed to be fast.. but at such a rate on wireless??? Thumbs up!!

coolie doolie… better get back to work again.. i wish i bring a webcam here, so i can capture all these studious people, gathering in this discussion room. Their faces are so serious as if they are about to solve the impossible question, ‘which one is first: chicken or egg?”

signing off with great reluctance.

without reason and explanation

sometimes i wonder how am i supposed to understand if i dont know whats wrong at the first place.

perhaps, my ignorance this time is no longer a bliss but a disaster.

would you please tell me? what happen to the pact we made. i can choose to ignore or i can choose to continue under disguised feeling. at this juncture, option is not on my side. so i will wait till you say it out and i will listen. no, im not tired of waiting and making that extra efforts, despite the occasional non response and occassional brush. but i guess, i shall just wait.

gMail is the way to go!

first of all, thanks to Jelita, the first guest blogger ever in the history of tedsta.com!!

i am currently in the middle of preparation for my audit mid-sem (tomm), but found myself increasingly frustrated with the whole notion of studying. So here i am, blogging.

Remember in last month’s posting, i was talkin about 1GB google mail??? Yes, its now running. Even though its not available for public yet. I have signed up to receive news but they have yet to send me any news on when i can sign up for it. BUT BUT BUT, i just realised that Blogger.com is actually owned by Google! So when i logged in to my blog, i received a special notice from blogger that i now could sign up for gMail, because i am an active blog user (=valued customer). I was so happy!! My first dissapointment is with the fact that you cant actually create a user name and thus email address less than 5 characters so there goes tedy@gmail.com…..instead i opted for emailtedy@gmail.com

I was surprised by the simple design yet, powerful functionalities that gMail offers. For once, they remove the use of folders and create labels instead. All the conversation with a person over a subject detail/matter can be put in the label. And the smooth transitioning between reply and forward functions were just amazing…NOt only that, the fact that its 1GB means that you never have to delete your messages ever (unless of course you are sharing porn files or mp3 over the emails).

It also comes with a search function that will allow you to search through your email messages (imagine if your inbox is 80% full) using Google style search…On top of that, you can create filter rules just like in Outlook where you can redirect your mails to your selected labels etc…. Its just cool… Also, they have an option to activate the keyboard shortcut while you are in google mail. If its activated, to compose an email, instead of using mouse and click Compose Mail, you can ‘c’ from your keyboard and it will open up the compose mail page..and many other shortcuts.

The only drawback is the advertisements on the right hand side.. but i dont even notice them until i was reading their explanations on how they can offer 1GB size.. While there are some privacy concerns (yes the advertisements relates to the messages in that particular email that you read), i dont think this will become a huge deal….

On the google note, i have also signed up for translation service for google. I become volunteer for the indonesian translations. its so cool.. there is no pay involved.. but i just find it exciting that you will be able to help them to translate few pages/user instructions…. next time you indonesian users using indonesian-translated google pages, some of them might have been translated by me!!!!

So for those who also get the priviledge… happy gMail… and for those who dont…. wait wait wait…patience is a virtue….hehehe..

anyway… off to my study again!

Merry or marry?

Hi hi everyone! I’ve had the honour of being a guest blogger on tedy’s website.. (probably felt guilty that i footed the dinner last night.. really tedy, no need to repay me.. you’re indebted to me already as it is ;P) i hope you enjoyed your day yesterday… it’s was a night of no politics in a long time!

Tedy.. getting old hey? Well i probably shouldn’t poke at him as it can come back and bite me in the ass! So, when’s the big day? Didn’t your auntie say that you’ve joined the ‘potentially marrying soon’ club? It’s funny if you think about it.. we’re only getting to the quarter of a century mark and here are our relatives pestering us about marriage. Not only do people expect us to do well in our studies, work hard to have a career that’ll set us for life but also choose a person to spend the rest of our lives with. Scary if you ask me.

People need to take a chill pill and take things in stride. Spread things out a little hey? I guess we’re lucky cos at least we can choose our future partners but i reckon life’s too interesting to rush into. We’re in our prime years… healthy and full of energy… ready to take on the world. We can have everything as long as we pace ourselves: finish uni, work hard to build ourselves in our careers and then, a family. You have to be selfish sometimes and think about yourself before taking another person into the equation. Life can be happy and merry without having to get married!

This is all easier said than done mind you. The reality is that we’re humans with a sense of wanting and belonging. As ambitious as a person can be, just being able to share it with your significant other can make all the difference. Our aunties obviously have already figured this out, thus why they pester us so much. Fair enough.

a nice treat from ‘pretty’

Jelita (aka. Pretty) insisted on me goin to have dinner with her to celebrate my bday. No, it wasnt an affair… we are both attached.. hehe…

So after our night classes, we started to head to Southgate and settled for an Italian restaurant, called ….. (i couldnt remember, damn.. and it was just an hour ago..)… the food was good, especially the dessert. We couldnt really decipher the menu.. because it was written in this cryptic and gothic Italian language, that even an English explanation of each item, wasnt really helpful.

It was a nice evening… with Jelita pretending to go to the toilet and instead paid for the dinner…. grrr… i was so embarrased at the end, as i approached the cashier, and the gentleman bid a farewel. In my mind, i was thinkin of how stupid he was for not asking me to pay the bill. Later than i realised that Jelita has footed the bill.

Thanks Jelita for the dinner and a nice evening!! I really enjoyed it.

Tommorrow, we have to go to BodyPump session to burn off those extra desserts that were definitely sinful!!!

Happy Birthday to Yenni and to me!!
