phuihhhhhhhhhhh…. finally i have submitted my database assignment… one hour before i was due to board on skybus….the feeling is huge relief…..at least for now.. i could have done better… but there is no way i could put in more time… my brain is simply incapable of such….

gonna take this weekend as a relaxing trip (hopefully not too much drama in SA)….and next week… its STUDY TIME…. (read: not review but relearn)….

geezzz… that assignment is a real killer…. goodluck for those who havent finished yet… my advise: dont waste too much time earning the last few marks on each question…. not worth the brain power….

hihi…. at least that’s me!

off to shower now!

there seems to be a widespread diaphora amongst students’ bloggers during the last week of semester. blog is less frequently updated. mine is also not spared. must be busy huh?!?

im currently scrambling to finish my database assignment due this friday. the annoyin part is i have to travel on friday mornin to adelaide for their BAC on saturday. i cant change my flight coz it will cost be around 130 bucks…. which simply means that i have to finish this assignment by tomm nite… urghh…. anyway… the assignment is on Oracle database. we are supposed to design a database for melbourne train system…all those hardware requirements and sql codes are flyin all over my brain now…i bet the subject coordinator will try to sell it to Connect or M-Train.. haha…. the worst part is… most of us dont even know what we are doing…. so in about 5 years time, if melbourne train system comes to a halt.. you know who design it..hehhe… at least thats what my lecturer said (who is different from subject coordinator)…he is a principal consultant in Oracle… and when answering our questions on assignments reluctantly (he didnt design the assignment, he is there just to lecture us), he claimed that perhaps the subject coordinator will use our design to sell it….Oh well… he said that not many people will do that detailed analysis and normally fresh graduates are doign them…

i have yet plan out the schedule for exam-cram. perhaps upon return from adelaide..

and also.. Happy Birthday Arturo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mexico and the rest of the world is wishing you a very good birthday!!! It’s meant to be

busy weeekend

it has been a busy week for me…… i have timed group assignment… which was released last thursday at 6pm and due this comin monday at 2pm…. i would like to think we are in good shape… but there is other database assignment which i havent really touched…

went to victorian BAC yesterday…. a massive turnout of around 55 delegates. it was a good conference except for one thing….there are no incoming OBs…. oh well…..the same with ACT and apparently NSW too… perhaps it will be sorted out before or during annual conference…

having ‘it’ again

for some reason, my mood today wasnt good at all. perhaps, im still exhausted from the overkilled weekend at Tassie and Canberra. i wasnt paying attention in classes and when i reached home, i decided to seek the comfort of my bed to bury all the miseries before my head. i just woke up and decided to be productive instead. its been an hour and i have yet to touch my assignment. there goes productivity.

it must be the pre-exam syndrome. for some reasons my stress level increases each and every day. it will get worse i tell u. and btw, i wil be out of state again at the end of the month. Adelaide is the destination. i had to cover the branch conference when ali decided to call his trip off, for his regular health check up in Sydney. Adrian on the other hand has to be in Sydney. so left me alone to cover it…. aihh… i have assignment due the Monday after…. oh well..

conference organising is not goin as well as i expect it to be. it could be that im demanding too much. but hey, i have an exam to do, and so is everybody.. and i rather not to be disturbed during those times.. coz i will lose it as fast as i could. thats the reason why i have been really pushy this month. coz im only useful practically for the next 2 weeks.

my laptop is on strike. this time, the battery is not chargin up. it would be disaster for the purpose of the conference. i have already had so many mishaps before. i might bring it tomm for repair. its out of warranty. so i rather bring it to an independent business. acer’s policy is to pay around 50 bucks on quotation… even if you reject it….and my machine is not Australian… even laptop is discriminated against here.

Royal Decree: Vegemite and Tim-tam to be imported

Today has been quick lazy and typical of my friday. Wake up late, catchin up on the non-sleep the night before. Then i settled on some conference stuff. Went to office to sort our paper works. Tomm (later this morning), i will be off to Tasmania and on Sunday, to Canberra for branch conferences.

Most of the night was spent on watching the fairy tale Danish Royal Wedding. The Princess (im sure you know) is Mary Donaldson from Tassie, Australia. It was a good royal wedding, with a number of times, the couple broke protocols by kissing each other :P Danish is the oldest monarch. And recent poll suggests that it is the most popular monarch too. 81% of Danish agree with the monarch (and thus the spending on royal function such as the wedding). The Queen, knowing her princess would be from Down Under, made a royal decree of importing Vegemite and Tim-Tam to Denmark compulsory. Apparently, it is so that Mary wouldnt miss some of the local taste. Mary will give up her Australian citizenship for Danish. Her Danish citizenship was also granted by the Danish Parliament. Its royal treatment all over!

Alrighty… me better start packing soon and catchin up on little sleep… its early morning flight tomm… so got to be ready… (if i dun blog for the next two days, im sorry… but i will be as soon as i get on to the net)..

not a so perfect day

mie just left for perth. wouldnt see her for another month or so. was trying to be a man today at the airport not to shed any tears… the truth, they finally came out as i was waiting for skybus under 5 degree crazy freezin melb weather… it has been a nice catch up with her. now we have to wait for another month or so… i guess assignments and exam will keep our sanity level high above the sea level…

im now sitting down in front of my second ‘gf’ trying to fill time up before class starts at 11. its gonna be hectic day today. with presentation tops up the list. its 20 percent so aint gonna risk it. i think im good. laptop has been charged and been goin through the plan back and forth…

im still tryin to grasp with the fact that its the last two weeks of semester. time really flies. oh yea.. my parents are coming over here… they have these free tours goin on… so they might be coming down at the end of the month… and then, mid July again.. and at the end of the year for my graduation (if i dun fail any subjects…touch wood)….i was just telling my mum that she neva visited me all the while i have been away in a foreign country…. and now… in one year, she gonna visit me three times… i miss her. i havent seen her for two years…the last time i saw her wasnt really a memory that i would like to remember. but thats history…its scary when i feel so dependent of my family in one sense but not the other. i have been living overseas since i was 14 years old, and i was a real nerd that time. so i can imagine that in my parents’ mind, im still this little boy…. in 8 years apart, i have been home for only about 4 times the most, the longest being two months stay. dont get me wrong, i love my family, best gift in the world… its just that being overseas for that long has changed my mindset in one way or another….and i might have to return home eventually at the end of this year for good… but i cant tell what lies for the future…

alrighty… its time for me to have breakfast (the only time i have breakfast is when i havent slept the night before). the thought of toasted white bread with philadelphia spread (80% fat free that is) is just too temptin now…

signin off!

a perfect day

I couldnt ask more from today…. the setting is perfect….

Started off with a late start and went to office to see Sharon with Mie. Lunch was in Hawker’s Kitchen, having the BEST hainanese fried chicken rice… Dessert was at Max Brenner with mie and jelita… i was havin a chocolate with orange peel.. we also ordered this scorn with melting chocolates everywhere….. (i feel guilty already)…

Yes.. i skipped my 3 hours auditing seminar for that sinful treat. Then me and mie went to the city center to catch Carey’s and Winslet’s new movie: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Its an outstanding movie…and despite the initial struggle of me not wanting to see it, and mie has to literally beg and forced me to..(wink)…. the movie was a huge surprise… its unique and different from the mainstream storyline…. Im giving it 4.5 out of 5.

After that, we went to Fed Square for some fresh air and decided to take a walk along the Yarra river with Jelita’s nice and cute camcorder with me all the while… We crazily decided to watch another movie: Kill Bill Volume 2. An outstanding continuation of the first one. My fave’s scene is when she took out the eye ball and crashed it on the groud….Kill Bill definitely is one the western movie which ‘educates’ audience with lots of different cultures… weve got japanese, spanish, chinese, etc….. Im giving Vol 2: 4 out of 5. Volume 1 got about 4.5 out of 5. So the whole volumes is 4.25 out of 5!

And as i got back….. there is a New Blogger…. lots of things have changed. I should say that Google is really making all the features standard across the board. Google’s blogger features mimics those of Gmail… There is no doubt in my mind that Google will become the Microsoft’s of the internet…..Especially with the goal spelled out in its prospectus to ‘make the world a better place’, Google’s IPO is a must…. Its a dutch auction though… so if you have some spare cash… this is the company to invest.. Afterall, its IPO is the most anticipated since the dot com boom…. $2b market cap… goodness…… I am just waiting for the day when eBay and Google comes head to head…….that would be the biggest biggest merger ever…. wait till the day this prediction comes true….. by then… i reckon the market caps of both combined will shoot to the roof….. at least $65b…. eBay currently has a market cap of around $52b…..Oh well.. i wish i have 10 lots of them each… not much… just 10 each…..(dream on tedy)!

my PC as my second gf

2004
05.10

hmm.. this is an interesting thought that mie was suggesting to me (perhaps out of occassional frustration)….

i really seriously think that i spend on my PC on a daily basis more than i spend on a single individual alive (apart from mie when im physically in the same place with her)….
so that pretty much warrants me to say that my pc is my second gf….

my pc is the single item (living thing i would rather think it as) that i would see right before i sleep and when i wake up every day. and when i say ’see’, meaning playing around with it…. i cannot completely imagine… what would my life be without my pc?? that would be disaster hey??

so… what do you all think?? are your PCs or Macs also have dual roles as your seconf gf/bf and perhaps in some cases, your only bf/gf????

i didnt realise that it has been a while since i blog… yea… the past one week has really taken a toll on me. all major assignments were due plus the last week of early bird registration i have to handle…. so updating this blog has been quite of a lower priority.. hehe

alrighty.. some major updates:
1. mie is here for a week
2. i signed up for ADSL with iinet. prolly within 2 weeks or so, i would have it up and running. thinking of getting a wireless modem too so i can use my laptop around the house without the wire nightmare…
3. goin to Tassie and Canberra next week over the weekend for two branch annual conferences
4. relaxing… yes… i need to fully charge before the exam frenzy all start… i can see the heightened interests in the library visits… i have yet to join the crowd…

apart from that, nuthin much really happening. hmm i wish my life is now not such a routine…haha… but hey, im not complaining!

BTW, Happy Belated Birthday to both Bernise and Marc!!!
