i bought three dvds from amazon.com recently.
when i got the last batch, one of them has consistent scratches in the middle, making it unwatchable in some parts of the movie.
so i proceeded to return on the same day i got it. after posting it, i checked my mail and got this from Amazon.com:

Thanks for contacting us at Amazon.com.
First, please allow me to apologize for the problem you experienced
with your shipment. I have placed a new order for this item. There
will of course be no charge for this replacement. Here are the
details of the new order:
Order Number: [edit: order number]
Shipping Speed: Expedited shipping
Estimated Delivery Date: February 25, 2005
As the cost of return shipping is prohibitively expensive in this
case, you do not need to return the original item.
I hope this solution is satisfactory.
Please be assured that this is not a typical Amazon.com experience
and in no way did we intend for this to happen. I hope that you will
give us another opportunity to prove the quality of our service to
you in the future.
As a representative of Amazon.com, I want to assure you that we value
our customers’ trust and it’s the foundation on which our company was
built. Please know that we’ll continue working hard to ensure that
you receive accurate service, and to minimize the chances of anything
like this occurring again.
Thank you again for shopping at Amazon.com.

this is what i referred to as excellent-five-stars customer service!!
the only problem is: i have sent it back while incurring $5 postage fee (which im more than happy to write-off considering the good customer service they provide). but i put that in the feedback form. i wanna see how they respond to it
