there are few books that have changed how i view the world. i have always suspected the so-called ‘economic imperialism’ by the US to the less-developed countries were performed by her agents - the World Bank and the IMF. The Globalization and Its Discontents by Stiglits gave me the first vindication. I respect no other than an honest opinion from an ex-insider.
I have just finished reading John Perkin’s Confessions of an Economic Hit Man and wow!!! You cannot believe it. I am vindicated for the second time! Perkin was an EHM himself. He was part of the system. You cannot get a better source than that.
The scheme is easy:
- convince countries that are important to the US to accept loands for so-called ‘developments’
- make sure those projects then tendered out to US corporations
- through World Bank, the IMF and other US-dominated aid agencies, these countries are
controlleddictated and bullied by these loan sharks
For those who continually deny that imperialism is pretty much the epic of US foreign policy, i have nothing to say but to pray for your naive soul.
This is a MUST read book!
