people are what matters

i was watching grey’s anatomy last nite when the main theme got me thinking – ‘people are what matters’. it’s so true.

over the past 10 years, i only have friends for my sounding board. living away from family forced you to build your own network of dependence. you have a select few whom you place your great trust and confidence in. you somehow hoping that they are there no matter how rough circumstances present.

the funny thing is, sometimes, taking them for granted are easier despite your best efforts not to. surely you have minor incidents every now and then. but if you focus on what unites rather than what divides, you will realise that truly the value of your friendship is what keeps you going in life – at least most of the times.

perhaps adjusting who, how and why you relate to a certain individual takes a lot of courage and to some extent dissapointment. but we have to do that to revise our own and their expectations on how we see each other as independent individual and as a unit trying to complement each other on whatever we do.

i just hope that i always be reminded of those moments in life when you strongly feel that those friends are among other things in life that makes you want to continue living and keeps you going even when times are tough.

thank you.

April’s Fool

Gmail’s April Fool this year is to offer a new service – Gmail Paper!

It claims to offer free physical copies of your email (unlimited) with just a click of a button. Pictures will be printed on glossy paper with paper clip attaching them to the mail.

I was fooled in the first few minutes – what gives it away for me is its claim on environmentally friendly paper:

Gmail Paper is made out of 96% post-consumer organic soybean sputum, and thus, actually helps the environment. For every Gmail Paper we produce, the environment gets incrementally healthier.

call it corny.. i call it genius! Go Google!

oh.. of course we cant miss the testimony:

“Now that I have Gmail Paper, I understand the difference between labels and folders. I had one message with two labels, but when I tried to stick the paper version into two filing cabinets at the same time, it just wouldn’t go.”
