Ratu Sejagad

2006
09.15

This is by far the best indo song i’ve heard this year. Originally it was sung by Vonny Sumlang but it took Ratu (famous with its Teman Tapi Mesra’s track) to bring this catchy song to a new level!

You can download the mp3 from here.

The lyrics of this song is here:

Ratu Sejagad – Ratu

Rasa deg deg an di hatiku
Saat kutatap paras wajahku di cermin
Pipi merah bibirku merah
Merekah menantang setiap pandangan

Kupoles lagi alis mataku
Hidung telinga jidat tangan sampai betis
Waw betapa cantiknya wajahku malam ini
Pasti aku terpilih jadi ratu

Aku berbisik dalam hati
Mungkinkah ini kan terjadi sesungguhnya
Kulangkahkan kaki menyusuri
Panggung pemilihan ratu sejagad
Putar ke kiri balik ke kanan
Senyum sana senyum sini ikut irama
Oh semua tepuk tangan
Seiring ku berlalu
Sampai menghilang dibalik layar

Akupun bersorak lepas kegirangan
Tapi kuterjatuh dari kursi goyang
Kiranya ku mimpi uuhhh jadi ratu sejagad semalam

The loose translation of the lyric:

Miss Universe – Ratu

I can feel my heart beating
When looking at my face in the mirror
My cheeks are red, so are my lips
Blossoming in challenging every stares

I put more touches on my eye brows
Also on nose, ears, foreheads, hands till my calfs
Wow… how beautiful my face is on this night
I must be chosen as the Miss Universe

I’m whispering in my heart
Is it possible for this to happen in reality
I walked along the Miss Universe’s peagant stage
Turning left and back to the right
Smile here and there following the beat
Oh.. everybone is clapping
Following my every move and passing
Till i dissapear behind the curtain

I then scream to let go of my happiness
But i fell down…. from a rocking chair…
I realised that it was a dream… urghh…. becoming Miss Universe for a night….

“A smile happens in a flash, but its memory can last a lifetime.”

BS’s Black Friday

BS has gone mad. It was the dreading Black Friday that every investor has been talking about (so much of mimickin the 1929’s crash)!

My $300T has been revalued to a mere $30b…. crazy! Everybody is selling his/her holdings…. I don’t even recognise the market anymore!

you can’t argue with

we were trying to explain how politicians should respond to the oil price shock in terms of real business theory vs keynesian theory. then i blurted out, there are two people you can’t argue with: (1) priest – cos s/he will invoke the ‘God is the Truth’ and (2) economist – cos s/he will invoke the ‘it depends on what your assumption is’.

imagine the nightmare if you have to argue with an economist who is also a priest.

Why Indonesians have to produce more babies

The Jakarta Post – An Indonesian bears $600 in debt

The fact that one in five Indonesians still lives on less than US$1 a day is made even gloomier by the fact that every person in the country — including those extremely poor and even newborn babies — already has nearly Rp 6 million (US$600) in debt to shoulder.

Such a sad, but true reality was unveiled on Monday when Minister of Finance Jusuf Anwar told the House of Representatives’ Commission XI for financial affairs that Indonesia’s outstanding debt through this year’s first quarter amounted to Rp 1.28 quadrillion (some US$128 billion), or 52 percent of the 220-million population’s gross domestic product (GDP).

Let me apply my extensive knowledge of economics to resolve this issue once for all.

The main trust in any result oriented solution would be to ensure that future generations (i.e. unborn babies) will eventually be free from debt or at least have a lesser debt burden.

There are two things that the government can do:

1. Enhance the debt scheduling management to ensure that debt reduction program would be able to substantially reduce if not eliminate the debt by 2010.

This is quite unlikely to be achieved especially knowing that nearly half of the debt is in foreign currency and the volatility of Rupiahs would hinder the pace of this program.

2. Encourage Indonesians to produce more babies.

This is a practical reality as it is Indonesia’s greatest competitive advantage. By having more babies, we can ensure that the debt level that has to be shouldered per person will be drastically reduced without the help of foreign intervention (yes, there are enough productive males and females in Indonesia).

So, I rally all Indonesians to get behind the country and produce more babies!!

The Crazy Frog

2005
06.15

This world has gone crazy….the news report has confirmed that the Crazy Frog ring tone has beaten Coldplay’s latest Speed of Sound to the top of UK chart by 3 or 4 copies to one!

Originally created by a Swede, the tone was popularly used for the famous Insanity Test. It’s a test requiring you to stare at Formula 1 picture with a straight face while the tone is playing in the background. If you laughed, you are legally insane. Click here to test whether you are legally insane or not…

Now back to the original ring tone…. this reminds me of the numanumaei/dragosta din tei craze few months ago, as i reported in this post….Except this is 100 times more famous.. and 100 times more annoying!! Its possibly the most annoying sound in the world!!

Click here to view the flash file of the video clip! (I warned you… its annoying the hell out of me!)
