i found this game online… it’s really funny and ‘educating’. mie is trying hard using Howard Dean to kill Paris Hilton to abolish the ‘death tax’……

you should try it out here

Earlier, the ‘boss’ i had to face using He-man were Barbara Bush and Senior Bush, having sex, producing those mini monsters that suck your blood dry…..

man… this is the funniest game i have seen online……. I DEMAND ANTI KERRY GAME NOW!!

La Mala Educacion

2005
04.14

i was just talking about how routine my life has become. when i went to work to day, i was determined to change.

for a start, i didnt have any work at all. all those newsletters have been sent out yesterday, and membership has been slow coming. mostly, because it is still school holiday. after about two hours in the office, i decided to sign off and catch a La Mala Educacion in Nova. There were about 8 people in the entire cinema. I had the entire row for myself!

It was a well directed movie. Considering i have no expectation at all – the last time i went to see a movie in the cinema was about 4 months ago… yes, thats how long it was. considering that Australian past time hobbies is cinema, i am an ourlier and pretty much a disturber in the statistic.

I made a mental note to catch The Interpreter. Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn are in the movie. It’s released today. I’m not a big fan of both. The only attraction for me is the fact that this is the first movie ever allowed to be shot in the UN building. That’s all.

p/s who says that Melbourne doesnt have coffee bean. Today i saw a new one open on Grattan Street. i took a picture of it (prolly will upload it later). But in my class, Cindy told me that there was already one open next to BMW showroom. hmm….. i didnt know that….

Kill Wil

04.04

After church, i went to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival to see Wil Anderson in Kill Wil. He was damned funny. I do not want to reproduce all his jokes here, but they are top notch. I had a great time.

In the spirit of the new month, i wanted to see what kind of viewership this blog attracts. Awstat gives me this stat broken down by country:

apparently, the viewership was down by 200 unique visitors. i must be that boring. haha.. yes, indeed. i shall try to improve the stuff i write on. in my on defense, i must say that it has been a hectic month, barely had time for myself. but hey, im adjusting.

by the by, kelvin koh has a new blog! this is a free ad for his new blog. visit it here. Congrats!

the new world order

2005
02.22

i keep wondering about the world we live in everytime my browser opens up different news sites. while many people (especially those single, unmarried, childless couples) said many times: ‘why would i bring another human being in such an unjust world’.

so i made a point earlier today (after some reflection on whats going on campus) the stuffs i found really interesting:

Orientation

Who says that university’s orientation is about orientating new students to the campus life and all those bullsh^& interactions among students, creating the so-called ‘vibrant campus life’ stated misleadingly on those glossy papers and prospectus to new students.

Welcome to the legitimised gathering of students’ consumerism – a parasite living and breading on our campus right from the first day new students learn about their universities. i am appalled by the number of stands offering ‘free stuffs and show bags’. you know what, im not hypocritical. i was after all once a new student who was tempted by those marketing gimmicks.

But today, as i looked around, everything is just sooo different. Call it marketing, call it whatever you like… it is not only corporate organisations giving all these free stuffs, in fact, all the student services of the university position themselves as marketing unit to attract the biggest number of people at any given point of time to their stands. obviously, the message gets fitted somehow, somewhere along those shoutings of free stuffs.

im sure lots of students want those show bags. but guess where they end up?? in the garbage bin about 5 metres from the stands which distributes it. not a single stand, not even the enviromental groups’ stands, actually bother to go over to the garbage bin and sort out all those plastic disposals.

but obviously it doesnt matter. its not the case of what information you gave to students, what matters most is, which show bags has the most interesting colours and free stuffs that students will pick up. after all, those students will carry them around the campus and i bet the manager of the student service will smile a lot when s/he sees that students carrying bags from his/her department. little s/he wonders where most of them end up… yea… in the tram, train, and the station.. but i guess s/he will never see it… cos s/he will be driving to uni!! oh well….

Paris Hilton

Did you know that Paris Hilton is like second in line to the Presidency of the United States? I bet you dont….

Alright… i made it up.. but thats only after i reorganise my thoughts…. i seriously thought otherwise before…;.

You would have heard by now that Paris Hilton’s mobile phone was hacked, and her address books ended up online….(i wonder whether my number is in there… i bet Milsy is..)….

but i guess i would never find out? why? because Hilton got protection from the Secret Service… yes… the Secret Service….the one who protects the First Family of the US?? I’m not joking…….my source (unfortunately) is CNN, and the >article mentioned that as soon as the new site providing the address comes online, the Secret Service will be in action to take it down…..

No… all of you Democrats-faithful.. dont get too excited… Bush is not having an affair like Clinton did (even though im sure he would like some new blood :P )….can we just agree to disagree with my statement: ‘infidelity is not this president’s agenda (unlike the previous one)’….

I still dont understand though why Hilton would get the SS’s protection. it puzzled me.

Howard lies again?

So today the ‘unexpected’ announcement (and lie) came again. Howard announced an increase of 50% of Australian troops’ presence in Iraq. Everybody seems surprise… Helloooooo??? This is the guy who keeps getting away from lying to the electorates… Dont act as if you are surprised?? He is afterall has the strong-mandate from the Australian public to keep lying…..(majority of senate is his chip to get away with anything really)….. From the introduction of GST, tampa and children overboard affairs, the interest rate and economic credibility.. and now the australian troops…… oh oh my… i will continue to admire his lying skills…..i bet you, lying will soon be listed under Migration’s Occupation On Demand List of DIMIA (with no kidding, 100 points, and 200 points if you got job offer from Howard’s press secretary).

Hmmm…. anyway.. i feel much better already…. bitching is definitely my favourite part time (which soon could turn into a job)….

A Journey Through Life – Review Mission

Blog Review: A Journey Through Life

I told you about BlogShares and how excited i was to be part of it. Well, this is a mission to earn me more B$… the total prize is B$1 Trillion, with a consolation prize of B$500 Billion per entry.

Anyway, the blog im reviewing is authored by Laila*, a top player in BlogShares (she gave 5000 chips to help me start!!). I will review the blog in two parts:

Blog Layout

The first thing that came to my mind when i opened the blog in my browser is Pink. and i dont like Pink as a colour. im a pinkphobia. however, the neat arrangements of all little things that were placed on the right-side bar impressed me. they negate my unfavorable first impression on the blog’s colour. under Laila’s photo, there are icons representing chat clients and various ways you can get in contact with her. an internet-savvy lady is the thought that crossed my mind. so all her friends, you have no excuse to not contact her :P

the layout of individual posts are of typical blogs’ entries. they are neat, with butterfly attached on every single post’s title. The font used creates an easy read for visitors, with occasional but proper use of text bolding.

My take on Blog Layout: 3 Stars (out of 5)

Content

The content is the one that blew me. Laila wrote practically everything under the sun – from BlogShares, Movies, Technology, Gadgets, Politics, Community.

Her aspiration to one day become President of the Phillipines is not far-fetched. After all, the Phillipines has produced many strong female presidents before. The only thing is, she probably have to either: (1) become an actresss or (2) marry her way into the president’s clans family. Both are achievable.

Various links were provided especially a stand-alone page dedicated to her country. CIA Fact Book or Wikipedia will not match the links provided in this page. If you want to know anything about the country, i highly recommend it!

She champions Sponsor-a-child donation through her involvement in BlogShares, underscoring her sense of responsibility to those around her.

The list of birthday reminders is awesome. it would be good though if she could provide a link to those in the list who owned a blog (which would be hard coz she used birthday alarm to generate the list).

My take on Content: 5 stars (out of 5) — very pleasant read.

Overall

Changing the colour from pink to a more neutral colour might create better impression on pinkphobia species like me :P While it underlines her status as a woman, her beautiful picture already projects that.

I recommend this blog for anyone who want to have interesting read of a very interesting woman and the world around her. Hopefully, one day, we can provide the support in her bid to the presidency :P

Blog’s Overall: 4.5 stars (out of 5)

indulgence

i have indulged myself in the following:
-the west wing, s6
-24, s4
-lost, s1
-the oc, s2
-desperate housewives, s1

they are top rated shows!!! esp the first three. lost is just another awesome show… the tense is unbelievable!!! i have spent hours in front of monitors reading posters’ theories and speculations about the show! i think 7 might snatch the rating this time with lost and desperate housewives….

love storm

2004
09.13

weekend was ‘wasted’ by watching a Taiwanese drame – Love Storm. Not exactly wasted. Because it was a bloody damn good movie. my sis got it from her fren. feeling the need to relax, i embarked in a long comfy and touchy vcd series session, right from sun 2 am, and concluded it by 9pm. there was a slight break from 9am till 1pm (thats my sleeping time).

today i bought 200 blanks CDs from JB Hifi. One main reason, is because i already run out of them. But the other, perfectly convincing reason is to pirate copies the 21 episodes of Love Storm. Each CD takes about 5 min to copy. So… go figure, how long….im now in CD #5 only…. and the bad thing about nero burning is, it takes so much of RAM, that my comp is nearly dysfunctional to do anything else.. even mp3 is jumping up and down…. oh well..

i am in between my break now. my PM just allocated more works for me (not exactly my works, but hey, its group project)…… did couple of blog surfing.. and wat i found is interesting…. nearly evryone hasnt updated their blogs….. so it all comes down to various reasons: 1. they all busy since its the mid term and assignment week, and yes holiday is coming… 2. they are glued to australian idol show, yea that cute Dan guy got voted off (he cant sing for nuts).. 3. they are campaigning for Mr Latham or Howard (hm.. im not so sure about this one)… or 4. they just cant be bothered blogging……because their lives are too boring to share…. (well, this sounds more like me…)

control room

2004
09.06

im destressing at this point of time. just finished watching control room with jelita. it was a very interesting documentary about Al Jazeera network coverage of the Iraq war. it’s funny how sometimes we rely too much on the media, hoping that there are truth somehow we see. i had conversation with Adrian after he finished watching control room yesterday. the conversion went like:

zTeDz: hows control room
Buttons: not too bad
just got me walking out of theatre not having alot of faith in our media
zTeDz: u mean u have faith before?
Buttons: not really
but u know…..
its one thing to know
and another to find out
zTeDz: true… but whats scary is people think they know until they find out :P

anyway….

i finally overcome the fear of PR application. i sent over my application for skill assessment to CPA despite the state of completion letter that i have. oh well, at least… i tried….even though it costs me around $350.00

also, on a new development, i embraced my first sin today, sharing that burden with Jelita, we bought a King Size Twix (OMG, IT’s CHOCOLATE!!!).. i can already imagine the implication…. 3 rounds at Optus Oval… urrghhh….

the BEST idol performance ever!!

2004
08.29

Indonesian Idol final show was shown last friday. The two finalists were Delon and Joy. Many people say that Delon manages to slip through so far because of his look. Joy is by far a better singer.

In this final show, Joy showed her singing talent through ‘The Trouble With Love Is’.
You can download the windows media file, by clicking here. I reckon this is the best performance ever!

The Indonesian Idol is by far the best idol show around the world. Through the stage, setting, lighting, etc, no other idol show can match it (talking about me being nationalistic here). If you dont believe, go to my friend’s site: http://www.HelenaAndrian.com. This site showcasts almost all of the top 10 performances. Look at how they do the lighting and staging! AWESOME.. even i could not believe it at first.
